Writer, filmmaker, mixed media artist, Elliott creates work centering around Absurdism, sociological observation and culture jamming collage formation. He's made films since the mid 90's, showing in festivals worldwide and regular alt cinema venues in Los Angeles and other cities. His video work includes autobiographical films akin to Joe Gibbons, short narratives, performance and documentary. He's collaborated with Ann Randolph, Gerry Fialka, Collapse Productions, and the late Mike Kelley in which he shot "105 minutes with Mike" in 2004.
His short story writing often centers around Greyhound bus travel where month long stretches of bus journey all around the United States have occurred regularly over the past 20 years. He has completed 3 books of observational prose with illustration.
His art includes collage, drawings, and small sculptures which are often mounted to city street posts, transformers, cement walls and other urban area outlets. Artworks are occasionally for sale online under various pseudonyms as well.
Elliott is a part of the alternative cinema movement, Absurdist Video Art, and is featured in the upcoming documentary by Larry Wessel called ERIC AND SHAYE.
Eli's books are sold at Sideshow Bookstore in L.A. They are also available online through Amazon.
Elliott's lifestyle includes experimental forms of living such as vandwelling in urban areas, and frequent travel. He has resided off and on in Los Angeles for 15 plus years, and extensively in the Northern California redwoods where he hopes to one day return to open up an art space featuring under represented alternative and outsider artists.
